For many kinds of repairs, it is quite apparent what needs to be fixed. However, with Plumbing and Electrical repairs, often the first step is figuring out the exact cause of the problem.

Below is a chart to help you narrow in on the exact repair required:

1

leak inside toilet bowl There are two gumis inside the toilet tank which often need to be replaced
Usually this leak is due to the 'small' gumi. First try this repair. small gumi small gumi easier repair more expensive
small gumi small gumi harder repair cheaper
If replacing the small gumi doesn't solve the leak — try replacing the big gumi large gumi large gumi repair
If after replacing both of these gumis there still is a leak — perhaps consider installing a whole new toilet tank. At present, we don't give a tutorial on replacing the toilet tank Contact a professional

Leak on floor – next to the toilet

Unless your toilet bowl is cracked (which is very uncommon) then this could be caused by one of the scenarios to the right.

A careful examination using:

eyes, hands, or paper

usually will help to determine the exact cause.

At the end of the big white tube (coming from the toilet tank to the toilet bowl) there is a big gumi. Perhaps this is cracked.
The water leaves the bowl after flushing and exits through a big pipe in back. There is either a gumi or cement here.
